MEETING OF THAMES BOARD ACTIVITIES AT INSTITUTES Activities of the various hospitals under its control were reported: on at the meeting of the Thames Hospital Board on Tuesday when there were present Messrs P. E. Brenan (chairman), A. G. Davis, J. G. Comes, A. H. Sutton, 0. W. Parfitt, C. W. Winder, ■S. H. Brown, W. Madgwick and J. W. Danby. At the Thames Hospital 109 patients had been admitted for the month, 136 discharged, there were four deaths and 93 patients remained. The farm report said 441 gallons of milk and 17 dozen lemons had been delivered to the hospital for the month and 36 gallons of milk and seven dozen eggs to .the homes. For the Waihi Hospital it was reported that 60 patients had been admitted, two died, 63 were discharged. The hospital had been only moderately busy but the maternity annexe was keeping constantly busy. The Paeroa Hospital was reported to have had 12 patients admitted, 10 discharged and five remaining. A moderately busy month had been experienced with everything working well. At the Coromandel Hospital there was an average of 18.1 occupied beds, during the month. The kitchen garden had deteriorated because of lack of labour. The maternity ward was still very busy and everything was so. far satisfactory although there was a shortage of staff. At the Mercury Bay Hospital 10 patients were admitted, 13 discharged, leaving four remaining.
