KEREPEEHI NEWS
SCHOOL PUBLICATION VARIETY OF EVENTS A copy for the first issue of this year of the Kerepeehi News, issued by the Kerepeehi School, has been received at the Thames Star Office. The publication is a duplicated one produced to give men of the district se.iwing overseas, to whom it is sent free, some of the district news.
Letters of appreciation from, the district men are frequently received, expressing gratitude for books, magazines and copies of the Kerepeehi News. Extracts from the letters of Gnr. R. Shilton, Tpr. R. Chick, Sgt. D. Land, L/Cpl. G. R. Crisp, Sgt. G. J. Black, Dvr. W. M. Pascoe, Pte. B. A. Smith and Pte. W. Kidd are printed in the latest issue.
The death in action of Pte. James Te Whata is recorded, and Tpr. J. Middleton and L/Cpl. L. G Ratcliffe are welcomed home on furlough. The success of the school pupils in various swimming sports and the programme of the patriotic sports on Easter Monday are other items recorded in the publication, and an appeal is made for magazines and other articles for soldiers’ parcels.
