NETHERTON FAREWELL
MR & MRS HAROLD HONOURED PRESENTATION FROM SETTLERS A very pleasant evening was spent in. the Netherton (Hall on Wednesday last to bid farewell to Mr andi Mrs W. Harold who are leaving the district to take up residence at Pt. Chevalier. The music was supplied by the Paeroa Melody Makers and Mr J. Gordon acted as M.C.
After supper, Mr F. T. V. Johnson, president of the Netherton Hall Committee referred to Mr Harold’s long association on the committee and also to the interest both Mr and Mrs Harold had taken in all matters pertaining to the welfare of the district, making special reference to Mrs Harold’s ready assistance in cases of sickness. Mr Johnson then called oa Mr and) Mrs Harold to accept a beautiful hanging mirror from, the residents of Netherton, and also presented Mr Harold with a fountain pen which was a personal gift from members of the hall committee. On behalf of the Netherton Lodge Mr A. Paul presented Mr and Mrs Harold with a handsome picturb. Musical honours were then accorded and Mr Harold suitably replied. Euchre prizes were won by Mrs. Richmond and Mr E. Williams, and! a Monte Carlo waltz was won by Miss D. Johnson and N. Monrad. A most enjoyable evening was brought to a close with the singing of “Auld Lang Syne” and “God- Save The King.”
