IDLE COROMANDEL MAN | 'PRISON TERM IMPOSED I Sentences of three months’ imprisonment with hard labour were imposed on Jerry Korewha, of Auckland, and Sam Mikaere of Coromandel, both aged 19, who appeared in the Hamilton Magistrate’s Court before Mr S. L. Paterson, S.M., on Tuesday'morning, charged with being idle and disorderly with insufficient lawful means of support. The two accused were arrested by Constable Jenson at Frankton on April 6 as a result of complaints. The accused had been sleeping in a haystack, and when the police searched the vicinity they found several articles which had 'been stolen from the Maori Hostel. Senior-Sergeant McHugh described .both the accused as strong youths, but said they had 1 been “living on American servicemen,” and been soliciting girls for an immoral purpose. The accused were willing to start work in Auckland.
