COMING-OF-AGE PARTY
MISS N. ROBERTS HONOURED 21ST. BIRTHDAY CELEBRATED On Thursday evening, March 30, the friends and relatives of Miss Norma Roberts assembled at the home of her parents, Mr and Mrs Reg. Roberts, Flora street, Paeroa, on the occasion of her 21st. birthday, when she was the recipient of many beautiful and useful presents and congratulations' and good wishes galore. During the evening, games, competitions and community singing were indulged in. Vocal items were rendered by Miss Elva Davie, Mrs Gwen Watson and Miss Olive Hollinshead. The accompanists were Mrs J. Craig and Miss E. Davie. Mrs J. Craig gave an enjoyable rendering of a pianoforte solo, “Warsaw Concerto.”
Twenty-one sat down to partake of the delicious supper provided during which Mr Roberts handed his daughter the customary key and in a few well-chosen remarks proposed her health which was toasted by all present and accorded musical honours. Miss Roberts suitably replied and was then called upon to light the candles and cut the cake which was thoroughly enjoyed.
