COMING-OF-AGE
PARTY HELD AT TURUA , 't MISS J. MORE HONOURED On Tuesday evening, March 28, Rev. J. More together with his sister, Mrs Dorward, entertained friends at an evening given at the Manse, Turua, in honour of Miss Janet More to celebrate her twenty-first birthday. After welcoming his guests, Rev. More introduced some very interesting competitions which caused a train endous amout of laughter. The winner of the treasure hunt competition was Master Grahame 'Clark whose treasure was in great demand. Prior to the delicious supper served by the hostess, community singing around the piano was indulged in. During supper, Miss More was requested to light the candles and cut the cake which was enjoyed by all. This present were: — Mrs Dorward, Rev. J. More; Misses J. More, N. Lowe, L. Millington, G. Fox, A. Tetley, M. McMillan, M. Tetley; Messrs S. Clark, D. Troughton, G. Innis, C. Marceau, B. Clark, 'G. Clark, J. McMillan and R. More. A very pleasant evening was brought to a close by the singing of “Auld Lang Syne.”
