WANTED TO TAKE UP FARMING GANGER ON THE RAILWAY At a sitting of the Industrial Manpower committe held in Thames recently Stanley Arthur Knuth of Paeroa ,for whom Mr Clendon appeared, appealed to be relieved from his presposition on the New Zealand Railways in order to go farming. His reason was that his wife had Ibeen ill for fourten years and farm life would be beneficial to her. He had three children. His eldest son would soon leave school and could help him on the farm. He considered there was a man in the gang who was capable of taking his place. He had been a sharemilker for 12 years before joining the Railways. He had other children who could also help. W.H.
