KEREPEEHI SUPPLY BLOCK LEAVES BLOCK PIPE INTAKE The following report _on both the East and West Water Supplies on the Hauraki Plains was given to the recent meeting of the Hauraki Plains County Council by, the Water Works Supervisor, Mr J. Bradford. The report read as under: — The. installing of the water to the Kerepeehi Island Block is in hand. The main along the Kaihere-Kere-peehi road has been laid all but 20 chains on the Ferry end, 6500 ft. of 3in. and about 6000 ft. of lain, galvanised pipe so far being laid. Twentyone service connections have been installed, 12 of these had to be pushed under the metal road. The trenching and back-filling has been done by the grader. This part of the scheme can be supplied as soon as we receive the 3in. fittings for crossing over the Kerepeehi bridge. In the East Water Supply one small blow-out was repaired on the 6in. main. Part of the supply was off for three hours. During the heavy rain the intake blocked with leaves, shutting the supply off for four hours. Other minor repair work was done over both supplies.
