LARGE SALE
INTEREST AT WHITIANGA 600 HEAD OF CATTLE YARDED Over 600 head of cattle came forward at Whitianga sale on Monday when prices were good. It is thought to be the largest sale held for 15 years. A good number of outside buyers attended and competition was keen. Quotations: —Fat cows sold well at £6 15s to £7 15s; steers, to £ll 2s 6d; boner cows, to £5; market for better quality not so good; weaner calves, to £3 2s 6d. The advertised entry of horses came forward. Some broken and some unbroken. Unbroken, to £l2; broken-in to £lo'. Some interested intending buyers could not wait till the last as the sale did. not finish till nearly dark, otherwise bidding on the horses would have been much brisker.
