Bowen has been spending her furlough with her mother, Mrs H. Bowen, Piako road, Turua. Miss S. Jones of Te Aroha, is the guest of Mrs A. Drent, Turua. Miss A, Johnston of Turua who has 'been visiting Auckland has returned home. Miss T. Boyd, of Turua, has returned after holidays spent in Auckland. Mrs Liddyhough, of Auckland, is visiting Mrs C. Brown of Hopai road, Ngatea. Mrs Stanley Laing has been the guest of Mrs A. E. Laing Snr., of Waitakaruru. Mrs E. R. Neale of Nelson was a recent visitor to Paeroa. Mrs W. Ingley, of Otahuhu has returned home after spending two weeks with her daughter, Mrs N. H. Hooper of Komata. Mrs M. Davis Snr., of Wharepoa, was the guest of Mrs G. Meldrum of Komata during the week-end. Mrs and Miss P. Defaur of Howick are o the guests of Mr W. Wight (Rocky Point), Komata. Miss P. Gladding, of Kerepeehi, was a visitor to Auckland for the weekend. Mrs H. Gavin, Kerepeehi, is visiting her sister, Mrs Mason (Hamilton), to meet her brother, Pte. D. Fitzgerald who has just returned from the Middle East on furlough.
