EVENING SPORTS
PAEROA HARRIER CLUB EVENTS ON THE DOMAIN HANDICAPS FOR WEDNESDAY On Wednesday next the committee of the Paeroa Harrier Club have decided 1 to donate all the profits of the evening to the patriotic fund. The general public are requested to support this meeting and so assist the 1944 All Purposes Patriotic Appeal. The main attraction of the evening will be the relay races which have proved very popular with the spectators. The sports will commence at 5.45 with the school children’s events, the adult section of the programme commencing at 6 p.m. The championship events for the evening yill 'be boys, 10-12, 440yds. and boys 12-14, 440yd's.. championships and senior and junior one mile championships. A keen struggle should be witnessed in the men’s relay race. Two races have been run, one being credited to High School and one to Wallace Supplies. On Wednesday it is proposed to run two heats, and so avoid the jostling at the changes. In the first heat will be Railway (No. 1 lane), T.V.’E.P.B. (No. 3 lane), Commerce Fours (No. 2 lane). 'Second heat: Wallace Supplies ’(No. 1 lane), Farmers’ Trading (No. 2 Lane), High School (No. 3 lane). At a recent meeting of the committee it was decided not to give any trophy to any unfinancial member.
