It took 20th. Century-Fox two years to prepare “Ten Gentlemen From West Point” for the screen, and more than three months to film. The story is set in the days when the future of the Point hung precariously. On the shoulders of ten courageaus cadets rested the existence of the “citadel of heroes,” and it is to their everlasting credit that they did not fail. They braved the form of criticism, proved their worth in battle, and enabledAmerica to keep its “Eagle’s Nest” intact, so that in future crises America could look to West Point for leadership. Preview critics awarded the stars lavish praise for their export performances. George Montgomery has come a long way since his early “western” roles, and a brilliant future is forecast for him. ’ Maureen O’Hara is even more lovely than she was in; “To The Shores Of Tripoli,” while John Sutton improves his position in the 'Hollywood stellar system.
