POLO DANCE

FUNCTION AT HIKUTAIA ENJOYABLE EVENING VISITORS ENTERTAINED There was a large number of dancers and l euchre players present at the Hikutaia Hall on Friday evening when the Hikutaia Polo Club held a dance to entertain the visiting polo players. Bright music was provided, by Herb. Walker’s Collegians Orchestra and an extra was played by one of the visiting players, Mr N. Allen. During the evening Mr Avery, president of the club welcomed all the players and expressed the hope ■that they were all having an enjoyable evening. Mr Avery also took the opportunity of welcoming home Staff-Sgt. Pat Goonan at present on leave from the Pacific, a keen member in the prewar days of the Hikutaia Polo Club. A beautiful supper was served' by the ladies. Euchre prizes were won by Mrs C. Alley and Mr W. Wyatt There was a number of novelty dances, the Monte Carlo being won by Mr W. Pugh (Clevedon) and Mrs H. Spinks and the spot waltz by Miss P. Hopping and partner. Lucky door prize, J. Bax. Among those present were: — Mesdames Geo. Avery, A. Duncan, G. Flavell, G. McGregor, H.
