Messrs W. Pugh, H. Whitford, T. Patton and B. Cossey, members of the Clevedon polo team and Messrs J. 'Elliott, C. McCulloch and A. Elliott, members of the Morrinsville team, were the guests of Mr and Mrs A. Duncan of Hikutaia during the polo tournament week-end. Mr J. Smith, of Clevedon, was the guest of Mr and Mrs A. Boyce, of Hikutaia last week-end. Mr T. McGuire of Pukekawa, was the guest of the ‘Misses Corbett of Hikutaia for the polo tournament last week-end. Messrs- J. Walter, F. McGuire and L. McGuire, members of the Pukekawa polo teams were guests of Mrs V. Brown, of Hikutaia during the tournament week-end. Messrs O. Lindberg, B. Marshall, N. Allen and R. McGuire, of the Pukekawa polo team were the guests of Mr and Mrs Cedric Murdock at Hikutaia for the tournament last week-end. Mr R. Henry, of Turua, a member of the Hikutaia polo team and Sgt. H. Sievert, were the guest of Mrs P. Alley during last week-end. Mr E. R. 'Neale, Mayor of Nelson, was a visitor to Paeroa last week-end. Trooper N. Trye, of Waitakaruru, is. home on leave. Capt. E. Hazeldine-Barbar, recently returned from the Middle East, will be visiting Ngatea during the weekend and will be the guest of Mr E. A. Mahoney. Captain D. Barrett, 0.8. E., son of Mr J. F. Barrett, of Waihi road, Paeroa, has been appointed rehabilitation officer in Hamilton. Captain Barrett returned a few months ago from the Middle East where he served with the Long Range Desert Group.
