WEDDING BELLS

STEENSON—BEASLEY CEREMONY AT KEREPEEHI BRIDE IN MAGNOLIA .SATIN A very pretty wedding took place at St. Peter’s Church, Kerepeehi, on Saturday last when Doreen Lomas, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs R. W. Beasley, Kerepeehi, was married to Maurice Walter, second son of Mr and Mrs E. Steenson, Kaihere. The bride who was given away by her father looked very, graceful in a magnolia satin gown with a fitting .bodice and full flared skirt which carried right down to form a long train. She wore a beautiful long veil with a coronet of orange blossom and carried a sheaf bouquet of white lilies dahlias and maidenhair fern. The chief bridesmaid was Miss Rona Beasley, sister of the bride and the second was Miss Myra Fulton, of Paeroa. They were attired alike in graceful frocks of lotus blue satin with full flared skirts and carried sheaf bouquets of pink dahlias and belladonna lilies and' maidenhair fern. Their headdresses were sprays of pink dahlias and belladonna lilies. The best man was Mr C. Steenson, brother of the bridegroom and the groomsman was Pte 'R. Hodgson. Rev. More officiated at the wedding and Mr Smith of Ngatea was the organist. The church was tastefully decorated by Mrs Barnbrook of Kerepeehi. The reception which followed the ceremony was held at the Hauraki Hotel, Kerepeehi. Mrs Beasley, mother of the bride received the guests wearing a grey tailored costume and a corsage of mauve asters and smart navy hat and accessories. Mrs E. Steenson, mother of the bridegroom, assisted, wearing a black model frock and black hat to match and carried a spray of red asters. Mi* F. Bartley was toast master. Rev. More proposed the toast to the bride and groom, Mr C. .Steenson, bridesmaids; Mr Beasley bridegroom’s parents; Mr .Steenson, bride’s parents; ,Sgt.-Major H. McLean, the boys overseas, responded to by Mr E. A. Mahoney. Other speakers were Mr H. Beasley, Mr A. McDuff, Mr H. . Fair, Miss R. Tapp. Among the guests were: —Mr and Mrs H.
