Johnson, of Netherton.

The Rev. T. Speer officiated and at the conclusion of the ceremony two songs were rendered by Miss Daphne Fisher with Mrs W. E. Tubman at the organ. The bride, who was escorted by her brother, Mr William Morrison, wore a trained gown of delphinium blue triple sheer, with matching veil Tield in place by a halo of orchids. She carried a bouquet of freesias and hyacinths.

. In attendance as bridesmaids were Misses Merle and Enid Smith, nieces of the bride, and Miss Merle Richmond and 'Miss Valerie Williams, nieces of the bridegroom. They wore alternate frocks of blush pink sheer and teal green sheer cut on classic lines, with shoulder-length veils held in place by top-knots of pink hyacinths to match their bouquets.

As fldwergirl, Gay Morrison wore an ankle-length frock of delphinium blue cut on similar lines to thos,e of the bridesmaids and carried a posy of primroses.

The best man was Sapper R. McDonald of Eketahuna, while the groomsmen were Gunner E. Johnson, Driver J. Monahan and Pte. P. Young’ (all on furlough). 'Following the ceremony a reception was held at the Nether ton Hall, 140 guests being received by Mrs Morrison, who wore a navy costume with hat to match. Her bouquet was of bronze marigolds. She was assisted by Mrs E. B. Williams,. sister of the bridegroom, wearing a black ensemble and shoulder spray of cyclamen.

Later the bridal couple were present at a dance held in their honour, the bride leaving in a navy ensemble with matching accessories.

After a meal has ‘been made from # the carcase of a fowl, simmer it in a saucepan with three or four cups of water, a small onion and some vermicilli. The delicious' broth that results can be called chicken broth without fear of contradiction. ’ *

As a change frt: stewing apples in the usual way use red jelly crystals instead of sugar. This imparts a better flavour and appearance to the fruit.
