POLITICAL MEETINGS

MR W. A. CLARK AT WAIHI ATTENTIVE HEARING GIVEN . Opening his campaign in Waihi, Mr W. A. Clark, National candidate for Thames, made a very favourable impression on his audience when he spoke in the Miners’ Union Hall. He received an attentive and sympathetic hearing. The Mayor, Mr W. M. Wallnutt, who presided over an attendance of considerably more than 100, introduced the speaker and referred to his fine record of public service. After several questions had been asked and answered, Mr S. H. Thompson moved a hearty vote of thanks to Mr Clark for his address and confidence in him as a representative of the National Party, and this was carried almost unanimously, the only objections being a small number of goodhumoured but “must-do-it-or-prin-ciple” “No’s.” MEETING AT KEREPEEHI ADDRESS BY MR SUTHERLAND There was a good attendance at the poltical meeting addressed by Mr A. S. Sutherland, MP. for Hauraki apd held at Kerepeehi on Friday night. Mr L. Tye presided. Mr Sutherland received an exceptionally good hearing and at the close of his address answered a number of questions. On the motion of Mr H. Taylor a vote of thanks and confidence was carried .unanimously.
