PROGRAMME AT REGENT

‘SECRET AGENT OF JAPAN’ ALSO

Jimmy Durante, Phil Silvers and Jane Wyman star in the new picture, “You’re In The Army Now,” which, will show at the Regent Theatre on Thursday and Friday. An all*out for the defence of fun comedy, the picture promises a real laugh-feast, with Durante and Silvers pooling their considerable talents as comics in the story of two rookies -who are just trying to get along. Pretty Jane Wyman and Regis Toomey carry the romance, and the supporting cast also includes Donald Mcßride, George Meeker, Joseph Sawyer and William Haade. A smashing story of undercover activities of Japanese agents just before the attack on Pearl Harbour has .been brought to the screen by the 20th. Century-Fox studios, in, “Secret Agent of Japan,” which will also show at the Regent Theatre on Thursday and Friday.

The first film out of Hollywood to give the lowdown on enemy espionage which led up to the outbreak of hostilities, “Secret Agent of Japan” is a startling revelation of intrigue and treachery in the Far East.

Featuring Preston* Foster and Lyn® Bari in a story of unusual power, the pictures, takes Shanghai for its locale and portrays the activities of secret agents trying to beat their enemies to the punch. FINALLY TO-NIGHT DOUBLE FEATURE “Friendly Enemies,” and Bound” will show finally to-night at the Regent Theatre.
