‘‘CALL OUT THE MARINES” PROGRAMME AT REGENT “PARACHUTE NURSE” ALSO How two blustering “soldiers of the sea” get involved in. a . sky plot, with hilarious results, is the theme of “Call Out the Marines,” RKO Radio film which will show Thursday and Friday at the Regent Theatre, starring vehicle for Victor McLaglen and l Edmund Lowe. . Bringing the two favourites together on the screen for the ninth time, the film strikes a thoroughly modern note in having them re-enlist in the Marine Corps in order to further their romantic. activities. In between their quarrels the two friendly rivals become innocently mixed up in a spy scheme and in the attempts of the Marine Intelligence officers to trap the plotters. As a result, they take an unexpected part in the affair at the wrong moment andl turn everything into wild confusion before things are straightened out. Skilfully blending breath-taking adventure, tender romance and laughfilled comedy with a timely story concerning She Florence Nightingales of the dir, Columbia’s “ Parachute Nurse,” which will also show at the Regent on Thursday and Friday provides grand entertainment for local movie-goers.
