AN UNWELCOME PASSENGER . STEERING GEAR AFFECTED . In an airgraph message to his parents at Lyttelton, a flight oflicer at present serving in India tells an unusual story. On landing at an airport after a flight of 1500 miles, he applied to the ground staff to have the steering gear of the aeroplane cheeked, as it did not seem to be functioning correctly. The mechanic who entered the aeroplane found that the interference had been caused by a sft cobra, very active and aggressive. When the cobra at last decided' to emerge, it was caught and killed.
