COROMANDEL MEETING FLOWER SHOW ARRANGEMENTS The monthly meeting of the 'Coromandel branch of the W.D.F.U., was held in the Catholic schoolroom on Saturday, August 28, Mrs Anderson presiding over a good attendance of members. A minute’s silence was observed out of respect for the late Mrs Boswell who was a very old resident of Coro-

mandel and a motion of sympathy to

the relatives was carried in silence. Comments were given by the delegates to the provincial meeting at Paeroa recently, on the business transacted and it was intimated that the child’s dress entered for the Rose Bowl competition had gained fourth place. Arrangements were discussed in connection with the forthcoming flower show being held in September. Several donations were received for prizes and these were gratefully accepted.

The meeting closed with the National Anthem after which afternoon tea was served by Mesdames W. Turner and R. Ecclestone.
