Slips Removed Slips on Torehape west and south roads have been shifted, reported the engineer, Mr J. U. Clarke, to the recent meeting the Hauraki Plains County Council. Hikutaia Cheese Factory The annual general meeting of the Hikutaia Co-operative Cheese 'Factory was held at the factory on Saturday last and the following convener and committee was elected for the comingseason:—Convener, P. Corbett; committee, G. Avery, A. Duncan, S. Heslop, R. Lowry. Drainage Board Meets The August meeting of the Hauraki United Drainage Board was held in the Turua Buildings on Thursday, the Chairman, Mr C. K. Fox, presiding. Others present were Messrs D. G. McMillan, E. B. Hill, R. B. Madgwick, C. W. Schultz, R. E. Tye and the clerk, Mr J. E. Green. Leave of absence was granted to Mr R. Green. Freak Calf Another freak calf was born .in Hikutaia last week, on the. farm ofxy Mr A. Duncan. The calf had three.’ ‘ eyes, one of which was in the centre of the forehead, and also two nostrils and two mouths, one mouth and one nostril being very small. The description of the animal was that it was a frightful-looking object. Auditors Appointed Part of the business of the annual meeting of the Te Aroha-Thames Valley Co-operative Dairy Company, Ltd., held recently, was to reappoint Messrs English and Smith as auditors at the fee of lOOgns. Remuneration of directors and chairman was also fixed- at the same figure as last year, being £2 2s per meeting and £3OO per year respectively, plus travelling expenses.
