WOMEN’S DIVISION
MEETING HELD AT TIROHIA INTERESTING AFTERNOON The monthly meeting of the Tirohia Branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union was held ar the residence of Mrs E. A. Murray recently, Mrs Wild presiding over a good attendance. It was reported that a card evening held on July 27 proved very popular and as a result the division was able to hand over the sum of £4 to the Tirohia Soldiers’ Welfare League. Miss Ross visited the branch and gave a most entertaining and instructive talk on "Reminiscences of My Travels.” As Miss Ross is leaving the district those present signed and presented her with an autograph book. Afternoon tea brought a pleasant afternoon to a close. Competition results:— Marmalade. —Mrs Noble 1, Mrs Cecil Jackson. 2, Miss Veale 3. Best bloom.—Mis Noble 1, Miss Veale 2, Mrs Wild 3.
