RIGHTS FOR WATER
NOTHING DEFINITE AS YET SUPPLY FOR KEREPEEHI PIPING AVAILABLE SHORTLY “Nothing definite could be ascertained regarding the acquiring of i rights over the Koterepoupouai stream by the Lands Department, and the most we could ascertain was that the Treasury had the matter of subsidy for Thames 'County in hand, and the Lands Department was awaiting advice from the Treasury before it I could state anything definite,” stated 1 the clerk, Mr E. A. Mahoney, at Wednesday’s meeting of the Hauraki Plains County Council when reporting on the efforts he and the chairman, Mr C. W. Parfitt, had made while in Wellington recently to secure this supply for the Kerepeehi Block Water Supply. Supply of Piping Reporting on the possibility of securing the necessary galvanised piping for the Kerepeehi Water Supply I and the Maukoro Canal Road East Water Supply the clerk stated:— “A shipment is due the week after next and the Assistant Commissioner of Supply is prepared to release piping for this council through the Guild in Auckland and a retailer. I have placed an order with Messrs A. and T. Burt in Auckland for sufficient 2in. and liin. to complete both the Kerepeehi Block Supply and the Waitaka-ruru-Maukoro Canal Road East Supply.
