BREEDING SOWS & STORE PIGS PRICES AT MORRINSVILLE SALE The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company Ltd., report that at their weekly stock sale held at Morrinsville on Friday, a small yarding of sheep comprising chiefly fat lambs with a few pens of breeding ewes. Competition throughout was keen and late rates were fully maintained. A full yarding of fat cows sold freely with values remaining firm. Boner cows were also in shorter supply and values were unchanged; A full yarding of all classes of store cattle, including the advertised entries from Hawke’s Bay and Gisborne districts came forward. Competition from a good attendance of buyers of young cattle was good, and late rates were fully maintained. A good line of good quality grown bullocks was not so keenly sought after, and did not sell as well as younger steers. In calf breeding cows sold up to late rates while empty station-bred cows met with a good enquiry. Yearling steers and heifers realised satisfactory prices.

There was a full yarding of dairy cattle comprising principally heifers. Good quality well-grown heifers close' to profit sold at recent firm rates, but small and poor cattle were not in demand.
