HOME GARDEN SUPPLY SHORTAGE POSSIBLE COUNTY COUNCIL DISCUSSION •(From the Ohinemuri Gazette of August 6, 1903.) Mr Darlington, one of the Waihi carters, had one of his horses injured while between Mackaytown and Karangahake on Monday. Some pieces of the harness broke, and the horse got its leg- under the wheel. Mr Crease, chemist, of Karangahake, who has had good experience in this line, caihe and looked to the horse and found that the back leg had not been broken, but very much bruised, and cut about between fetlock and kneejoint, which necessitated inserting about 14 or 15 stitches. . I \ When the County Council sat as the Paeroa Domain Board yesterday, Councillor* Moore said that a domain board should be formed of Paeroa citizens and for this purpose it was advisable for a public meeting to be called. The chairman (Mr Poland) said that it would be all right later on, but at present there was £9 to the credit of the Domain Board. What i was wanted was a large loan, $0 spend on the domain and make the necessary improvements <■ systematically. As it would be a work that would benefit the whole of the Paeroa people, it would only be right for the whole of the Paeroa people to pay for it. Negotiations were now in progress to see if a loan for improving the Domain could be obtained, and when the information regarding same was to hand, a public meeting could be held and a poll of ratepayers taken to see if they would favour such a loan. Discussion on the question was dropped.
