TENDONS OF KANGAROOS The kangaroo has enabled to be a jump ahead of the world'in orthopaedic work. Medical research workers in Brisbane have proved that kangaroo tendons. when treated, have special uses in various types of operations and many kangaroos in Queensland are being killed to obtain them. Kangaroo tendons are, taken from the tail. They are often used for similar purposes as cat-gut but more particularly when greater strength is required. Australia is now the world’s biggest producer of ordinary cat-gut, which is taken from sheep. Cat-gut now replaces silver wire and silk for stitching up wounds.
