MORNING TEA PARTY

PAEROA PLUNKET SOCIETY NURSE THOMPSON FAREWELLED Last Friday morning committee members of the Paeroa Sub-branch of the Plunk et Society gathered together in the Paeroa Plunket Rooms to bid farewell to Nurse I. Thompson who has left the district on transfer. Morning tea was served after which Mrs R. S. Carden, president of the society took the opportunity to thank Nurse Thompson for all she had done in her important work during the past five years. Nurse had worked in harmony and it was with regret that she was leaving on account of jll-health.

Mrs Carden then called upon Nurse Thompson to accept a pottery vase as a token of remembrance together with flowers and a posy of daphne. The Mayoress, Mrs E. Edwards thanked the nurse on behalf of the people of Paeroa and expressed regret at Miss Thompson’s departure. Miss Thompson briefly replied thanking the speakers for their kind

remarks and said that she was sorry

to break her association with Paeroa. She thanked one and all f° r the gift presented her and the little function arranged on her behalf. .
