CONCRETE FORD

KAUAERANGA RIVER CROSSING OFFER MADE. BY MINISTER At the request of several settlers in the Kauaeranga .Valley and of the Thames County Council, Mr J. Thorn, M.P., has made several approaches to the Minister of Works, Mr Semple, regarding the construction „of a concrete ford over the Kauaeranga river. The Minister has now written to Mr Thorn to state that the estimated cost of the work is £660 and that the .Government is prepared to find £5BO of this amount if the Thames County Council will contribute £BO. The Minister lays down as a condition that no part of the Government subsidy will be payable until the legalisation of the approaches has been completed.
