During recent months many thous-
ands of tap washers have been renewed In Wellington by an inspector from tbi city engineer’s department, and by iW means hundreds of thousands of gallons of water which would have rua from leaking taps have been saved, but up to now the Corporation htM been unwilling to renew washers •f taps oven wash-basins, because of the risk of breakage of porcelain iMiIiDS.
