COMPANY PARADE
PENINSULA HOME GUARD BIG DAY AT COROMANDEL Coromandel was the scene of considerable activity on Sunday, July 18, when a company parade of the Home Guard. was held. Inspection parade was held in the morning by platoons and in the afternoon a short church parade was held followed by company drill on the Domain after which the company marched down to the Soldiers’ Park Reserve where a large section of the public was gathered. After a drill ‘display .by sections of the comjpany the National Anthem was played by the band, bringing the day’s activities to a close. The Coromandel Silver Band ren-
dered the hymn “Abide With Me” at the church parade and supplied military music for the company on the march. The W.W.S.A. section evoked considerable favourable comments in regard to their marching, and general deportment and they were applauded on the completion of their the applause being led by the Whenuakite section of the Home Guard.
