VALUABLE WORK DONE t “The increased demand for agricultural 'products to meet civilian requirements and to fulfil our commitments to the Armed Forces has added considerably to the work of the Councils of Primary Production,” states the Minister of Agriculture, Mr J. G. Barclay. “In addition to the organisation of actual production, the councils have also rendered invaluable assistance in matters of fertiliser rationing. manpower problems and supplies of farm equipment and materials.” , The Minister further stated that District Councils of Primary Production are now established in 36 districts, each having office facilities and a full-time secretary. The Government has made available the necessary funds for this purpose. ‘“I desire to pay a sincere tribute to the work of the Primary Production Councils,” continued the Minister. “and particularly to farmer members of District Councils who, without remuneration, have given of their time and energy in service to the farming community.”
