TO CONTEST THAMES SEAT REV. REGINALD DAY OF WAIHI His intention of contesting the Thames seat as an Independent candidate at the forthcoming election was announced this morning by. the Rev. Reginald Day, a Methodist minister who prior to the war was stationed at Waihi. The Rev. Day joined the Royal New Zealand Air Force as a chaplain when he left Waifii and then was with the Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force in the Middle East in the same capacity. In his younger days the Rev. day was a prominent athlete, being particularly interested in boxing and wrestling. His interest in the? election is to fight for the best possible treatment in the rehabilitation of the men who served with the Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force. . '
