PLAINS WATER SUPPLIES NO TROUBLE FOR MONTH REPORT FROM THE SUPERVISOR That both the East and West water supplies were functioning satisfactorily with nd trouble during the past month was reported by the water works supervisor, Mi’ J. Bradford, to Wednesday’s meeting of the Hauraki Plains County Council. The report read as under:— “East Water Supply.—This supply caused no trouble during the month; no repairs having to be done on any of the mains. “At the headworks, Puriri, the tunnel has been scoured out, very little rubbish'was found inside. “Scour valves and dead-end mains have been blown off. The release valves on Huirau road have been tarred. Twelve more stop-valve signs have been numbered.
“Minor maintenance work was done to service connections. “West Water Supply.—On Miranda road' most of the water meters have been taken out and. tested, some of these had to be raised and shifted into more suitable places. “The blow off valves and dead-end mains have been left to run overnight, some of these on the galvanised main had to be left to run longer before the water became clear.. “Water meters were read on both supplies for the period. “The valve signs for this supply have been ordered from the Hume Pipe Company. “Some time was taken up on inspection of farm property services.”
