W.A.A.F’ S . HONOURED

FAREWELL AT KEREPEEHI PRESENTATIONS MADE MISSES R. BOOTH & M. STRONG A farewell evening was held in the Kerepeehi hall on Monday, June 28, in honour of Misses R. Booth and M. who have joined the W.A.A.F. Dancing and vocal items helped to pass a very pleasant evening. Music for dancing was supplied by Mrs H. Taylor and Miss J. Hayes. Vocal solos were rendered by Mr Maunder (Turua), accompanied by Mrs McGowan, and Miss R. Booth accompanied by Mrs Kearns. Mrs H. Taylor on behalf of the Kerepeehi Women’s Auxiliary asked Miss Booth to accept a farewell gift and expressed the very best wishes of all in her new venture. Mrs Taylor | said that Miss Booth would be greatly missed as she had been secretary for' both the auxiliary and Kerepeehi Library besides being a very willing worker in all local affairs.

Miss D. Clark, president of the Kerepeehi Basketball Club presented ■both Miss M. Strong and Miss R. Booth with a gift from the members and wished them all the best in their new venture. In reply, both Miss Strong and Miss Booth thanked all those present for making the evening so enjoyable .and for the lovely gifts and good wishes. The Monte Carlo waltz was won by Miss I. Kearns and Mr W. Kearns. The statue waltz was won by Pte D. Booth W.A.A.C., and Mr T. Stone. Among those present were Mesdames Strong, W. Booth, A. Innis, G. McGowan, R. T. Hill, R. Reddy, W. Kearns, H. Innis, H. Booth, J. Redwood, C. Billing, H. Taylor, G. Walker, R. Harvey, H. Warner, L. Clark, W. Thompson, A, Rawlins, I. Hooper. Misses R. Booth, M. Strong, J. Shilton, M. Poland, Pte. W. Booth (W.A.A.Ct), ,N. Strong, N. Collins, D. Phelps, N. Jordan, D. Clark, N. Taylor, S. Harvey, B. Hooper.
