HANDICAP RACE SATURDAY 61-MILE CROSSCOUNTRY COURSE On Saturday the Paeroa Harrier Club will conduct its annual handicap race over a 6i-mile crosscountry The Colts race is very open and on the past form of the road champion, A. Currie should be very hard to beat. G. Vlahovich, after his fine run in the pairs teams race appears to be approaching his best form. Of the others P. Morrison and M. Millar are capable of springing a surprise. The men on th_ limit who should run well are M. Follas, L. Wheeler, R. Leach and A. Vosper. In the junior race, T. Morrison off scratch, will be right up at the finish. He is a very determined runner and -should record a first-class performance under these handicap conditions. The -consistent J. Fowler can be expected to run his usual good race. P. Pennell on the limit is quite capable of a win and will make the harriers behind him know that they have been running’ when the finish is reached. R. Millar is another with good prospects. In the senior race a good contest should be witnessed as F. Sharp off ■3.30 is approaching his best form and should be able to hold the scratch man, M. Vuglar. C. Marshall may need a race or two before he can produce winning form. He is well handicapped off IX) min. The handicaps are as follows:— Colts.—A. Currie scr.; G. Vlahovich, 155.; -P.
