Mr Short, of Waihi, is spending a holiday as the guest of his daughter, Mrs W. Bailey, of Kerepeehi. Mr A. G. Shilton, Kerepeehi, was a visitor to Wellington last week-end to 1 attend the races. Mr G. Garry, Kerepeehi, was a visitoi’ to Wellington last week-end. ' Mr C. Bird has returned to his home in Netherton after a month spent in Auckland. Mr A. G' Shilton, Kerepeehi, is spending his annual holiday in Ohakune as the guest of Mr G. Ellis. At Thursday night’s meeting of the Paeroa Borough Council, Mr J. W. Silcock was appointed assessor for the borough. Canon W. G .H. Weadon of Paeroa, was elected to the standing committee at Wednesday’s meeting of the Waikato Diocesan Synod held in Hamilton.
At Wednesday’s meeting of the Auckland Education Board, Mr R. A. Rutherford was appointed sole teacher at Karangahake School. Mr James Thorn, M.P., will visit the electorate this week-end. He will be ih Waihi on Saturday, and on Sunday he will meet the settlers at Hikuai and Tairua. On Monday he will be in Thames. He leaves for Wellington on Monday afternoon.
