WEATHER DURING JUNE STILL A VERY DRY YEAR RECORDINGS TAKEN IN PAEROA Although the rainfall in Paeroa during June was well above average, the total rainfall to date for 1913 is far below that usually experienced. A total of 6.65 inches of rain was recorded for the month compared with 1.22 inches for the same month last year bringing the total to 16.67 inches for the six months compared with 25.63 inches, the average for the same period taken over the last 29 years. On six days only during June rain was not experienced. Ram fell mi 24 days during June but on no occasion was the fall heavy, the highest recorded being 1.11 inches on June 17. Sunshine was recorded on nine days, the reading being taken at 9 a.m. each day. Wind reached gale force on June 20 while thunder and lightning was experienced on June 24. Five frosts were experienced during the month. Barometric pressure showed little fluctuation, the lowest recording lieing 29.18 inches on June 30 while the highest was registered at 30.33 inches on June 14. There was considerable variation in readings from the thermometer, the highest being 60 degrees on June 22, while the lowest. 42 degrees was recorded on June 7.
