DELIGHTFUL COMEDY PROGRAMME AT REGENT, AN ENTRANCING STORY Twenty-three years old Barbara Mullen has the title role in “Jeaiinie,” which will show at the Regent Theatre Tuesday and Wednesday. The entrancing story is about a Scots girl who has spent most of het) life doing house work at her father’s cottage in Scotland. When hei* father dies she inherits £297 and goes off to Vienna for a holiday for no other reason but that she has heard the “Blue Danube Waltz.” On the way she meets Stanley (Michael Redgrave) a washing machine salesman, in whom she is partly interested because of all the things she hates it is washing Sheets. In Vienna, however, she loses interest in Stanley and falls in love with a mid-European nobleman (Albert Lieven) who, when he hears that she has come into a fortune, concluded that she has inherited vast wealth and determines to marry her. When the £297 has gone and Jeannie has to tell the nobleman that her “fortune” has disappeared, he very soon cold-shoulders her. She leaves .Vienna in a hurry and returns to Scotland . . . but no sooner is she back home than Stanley arrives anti by means of a washing machine inveigles her into marrying him! FINALLY TO-NIGHT I “BEYOND THE BLUE HORIZON ” “Beyond The Blue Horizon” will show finally to-night at the Regent Theatre.
