FIRST GUMBOOTS
SHOULD BE FOR FARM WOMEN REQUEST BY MR SUTHERLAND “Would the Minister see that the Government gives every assistance to the company that is preparing to start the manufac- ■ ture of gumboots in Christchurch, so that it may start at the earliest possible opportunity to turn out the finished article,” was a question asked in the House of Representatives on Friday by Mr A. S. Sutherland, M.P. for Hauraki. Mr Sutherland also asked the Minister to see that the first gumboots manufactured were issued to women who are doing farm work and for whom gumboots are indispensable.
