MEETING HELD AT PIPIROA cv— __uEsra - '''" ** DAIRY CO. SUPPLIERS GOLD FOUND AT COROMANDEL (From the Hauraki Plains Gazette of June 25, 1923.) On Friday afternoon the annual meeting of Pipiroa suppliers to the N.Z. Dairy Company was held, when Mr E. Keane presided over a good attendance. In answer to a question, Mr W. E. Hale said that to give shareholders at this end of the area better representation on the board it had been, decided to givide the area into three wards. The whole of the Hauraki Plains with the exception of Netherton is now one ward. Netherton is included, in the ’Paeroa ward. The committee elected was: —Messrs E. Keane, F. Wallis and W. Ganley. Reports from Coromandel announce the discovery of rich specimen stone at Tiki, a district from which quite a lot of gold was won in the early days of the Coromandel field, though generally in small patches. It seems that a prospecting party which had been fossicking for some time, recently came on good goldbearing stone and pegged out and . applied for a claim. Shortly afterwards they found that the area had been previously pegged out by others, who contend that the ground in which the stone was procured forms part of their holding. The whole matter, it is said, is likely to be ventilated before the Warden’s Court at an early date.
