CLEARING SALE AT NGATEA MOST OF HERD BACKWARD The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report having conducted a clearing sale on Thursday last on behalf of Mr S. Coppins at Ngat'ea when they offered his herd of third calvers. The closer up ones sold quite well, making to £l2 but a majority of the herd were fairly backward in condition and therefore not in such keen demand. Best dairy cows, early July calvers, made from £lO to £l2, medium quality, £8 5s to £9 15s; later calvers, £6' 10s to £7 15s; backward and inferior, £5 to £6.
