GREAT ACTIVITY

FARMING LIFE IN THE VALLEY SHAREMILKERS ON THE MOVE There is great activity in all departments of farming life in the Thames Valley. Numerous clearing sales are being held and-high prices are being realised for all classes of farm stock. The effect of the recent embargo on the sale of pork has not yet been felt in the Thames Valley. During the last fortnight there has been a sharp demand for all classes of horses. Useful farm animals in the Waikato are selling up to £4O. A lucky dealer bought a horse a fortnight ago for £2O and. sold it at auction last week for £3O. Hacks and children’s ponies are also in demand. Many farms in the Thames Valley are changing hands, and the market prices for land are rising. Many sharemilkers are on the move making contracts with new owners.
