STRAYING STOCK

DAMAGE DONE AT KUAOTUNU

COMPLAINT MADE TO COUNCIL

A complaint regarding straying stock on ’the Kuaotunu Flats was received at the June meeting of the Coromandel County Council from Mrs J. W. Turner.

Mrs Turner pointed out the damage being done to the sand filling and the marram grass which had been planted there, and also stated a hors© had broken a gate and got into her vegetable garden which was a serious thing these days. Cr. T. E. Simpson corroborated the remarks made by- Mrs Turner.

It was resolved that a letter be sent to the offenders warning them that prosecution would follow without notice and also to Mrs Turner giving her the correct procedure regarding witnesses as to the ownership of the stock in the case of a prosecution.
