HEAVY YARDING
CATTLE SALE HELD AT PAEROA
IMPROVEMENT IN BEEF PRICES
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency, Ltd., report that at their fortnightly sale held on Tuesday there was a large yarding of all classes of cattle when dairy and beef cattle showed an improvement on recent sales.
Best dairy cows and heifers, close to profit, made from £8 10s to £lO 10s; medium quality cows and heifers, £6 15s to £7 15s; backward and inferior, £4 to £5; prime beef cows and heifers, £9 to £lO ss; medium quality, £7 5s to £8 10s; lighter, £6 to £7; unfinished, £4 to £4 15s; heavy boners, £3 15s to £4 ss; medium, £3 to £3 12s 6d; light, 210 s to £3; thin, 35s to £2 ss; yearling heifers, £2 10s to £3 12s 6d; 2-year-old empty heifers, £2 to £2 15s; fat wethers, 25s to 30s; bulls sold according to weight from £2 10s to £7.
