GOODS TAKEN
BURGLARY AT THAMES ENTRY THROUGH WINDOW INCIDENT DURING WEEK-END Either' late on Saturday night or early on Sunday morning the premises of Messrs Coakley and Co., Thames, were broken into and a small quantity of tinned goods taken. An entrance was made through the window of the shop on the Willoughby street by forcing it open for about 18 inches. Inside the window is a fixture of shelves, upon which a quantity of crockery is on show, and this had to be removed before the thief, or thieves, could enter the shop. The goods taken comprised mostly tinned goods and foodstuffs, and the estimated value was between £3 and £4. The intruder did not enter the office. He left by the front door, which was found open by a passer-by at about 1.15 on Sunday morning.
It is understood that fingerprints have been obtained from some of the articles on the fixture that were moved to enable the burglar to get into, the shop.
