“Best Place in World for it"
‘‘lf we have got to fight this war. this is the best place in the world for it,” comments a New Zealand soldier serving in the Middle East, in a letter to his father in Christchurch. The soldier, who arrived in Egypt in. February, 1940, and has served in ‘Greece, Crete, Libya, Egypt and Tunisia, writes:—“l saw a' cutting from 'a New Zealand newspaper a couple of days ago where people were complaining about us not being sent home. I could say a lot, but I can’t understand the newspapers allowing people to write such trash at this stage of the show.”
