57,162 POLES ERECTED

THAMES VALLEY POWER BOARD ONLY ABOUT 9% REPLACED The total number of poles installed in the board’s area at the end of the year was 57,162 of which 23,142 were service line poles, stated the annual report considered at Tuesday’s meeting of the Thames Valley Electric Power Board.

The report added:— “The number of poles erected during the year was 616, compared with 1418 last year. There were 501 poles replaced, while 29 were dismantled. “The total number of poles replaced since the board commenced operations is 5132, which is about 9.0% of the total which have been erected.’’
