NG ATE A HALL ’ SOCIETY ANNUAL MEETING HELD OFFICERS FOR YEAR ELECTED (From the Hauraki Plains Gazette of May 26, 1923) The annual general meeting of the Ngatea Hall Society was held in the hall on Wednesday evening. Mr G. T. Davidson, president, occupied the chair, and there was a fair attendance of members. An apology was received from Mr D. A. Vincent. The annual report ,and balancesheet was adopted. t The following officers were elected: President, Mr G. T. Davidson (re-elected); vice-plre-sidents, Mr W. J. Clare and Mr W. McDuff; secretary, Mr C. - Mellor (re-elected); auditor, Mr E. Walton; committee, Messrs W. J. Clare, S. Phillips, W. McDuff, J. Costello, D. A. Vincent, W. G. Hayward and G. T. Davidson. Mr McDuff moved and Mr Clare seconded that the secretary’s honorarium be ten guineas for the ensuing year. ' Hearty votes of thanks were accorded to Mr C. Mellor for the manner in which he had carried out the duties of secretary; to Mr E. Walton for his services as honorary auditor; to the hall caretaker, Mr Mclnerney, for his services at the recent concert; and to Mr K. Shaw for improvement at the side of the hall. At a committee meeting held afterwards it was decided on the motion of Mr W. McDuff, seconded by Mr J. Costello, that tenders be called for the lease of the hall one night a week for pic- , tures.
