£8/17/6 FOR CHOPPERS

HIGH PRICES AT MORRINSVILLE QUALITY DAIRIES IN DEMAND The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Limited, report that at their weekly stock sale held at Morrinsville on Friday a good yarding of fat sheep and lambs sold under good competition -at full late rates. . Store lambs and wethers were penned in small numbers and -these were dull of sale. There was a medium yarding of breeding ewes, including several pens of young sheep. Competition for this class was satisfactory but older sheep were hard io quit.

A medium entry of cow beef met a steady demand and sold at firm values. Boner cows were yarded in full numbers and also maintained late rates. There was a stronger demand for Jersey heifer calves and values improved on recent sales.

The advertised entry of stationbred cattle 'came forward, and included several pens of young steers and heifers from Hawke’s Bay. Forward conditioned cattle were not so keenly sought-after while empty cows and heifers changed hands at satisfactory prices. A total clearance of young cattle was also effected, although prices were lower than outside districts.

There was a full yarding of dairy cattle, including the advertised herds. Competition for good quality cows and heifers, showing well forward was keen, late rates for these being fully maintained. Backward sorts, however, were not keenly sought after. There was a medium yarding of fat pigs, and a good entry of stores and weaners. Baconers and porkers sold fully up to recent rates while the demand f<?r stores and weaners was very keen/ prices being in advance of last week. Choppers also were in demand.
